Whether it be people telling me to start a blog, the show "awkward.," where the lead girl who I've been compared to has a blog, or because we are living in a blog world, I thought I'd give it a shot. As the growing lady that I am, I thought it was only fitting to create a new blog to start posting some thoughts, ideas and even some new experiences that I'm facing as I continue into the post grad world.
The last few years have brought me plenty to write about as I've been through four years of college, traveled the globe and had tons of crazy experiences to share. Although the future is unclear at the moment, I'm sure that between working part time in New York City as well as waitressing that I'll have quite a bit to write about because let's face it- it's a crazy world out there, folks.
I guess I should maybe share a bit about me. I'm a 21 year old Ithaca College graduate with a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications. For those of you who are confused by that lengthy name, it's basically just a degree in Communications. That means that through classes as well as internships, I have knowledge about the field as a whole. In essence, I know a little bit about a lot of different things. The facets that I chose to zero in on are Public Relations and Marketing. Down the line I hope to apply the things I've studied to the entertainment industry whether it be music, television or movies.
At the moment, I am doing some part time marketing work for a travel technology company in New York City. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to all of the travel jargon, but thanks to some very patient superiors as well as google, I'm beginning to catch on. Hopefully it all clicks into place sooner rather than later!
Obviously I cannot live off of one part time job, so while I still live at home, I am rackin' up all the money I can in the waitressing world. Let me tell you guys, it ain't no joke! Although I was never a rude customer or even a bad tipper, it is MINDBLOWING to see how many jerks there are on the planet. I've said it before and I will certainly say it 100 more times- every person should be mandated to work in the hospitality industry for just one month. It not only keeps people grounded and aware of their surroundings, it gives everyone some perspective. That being said, tip ya waitress, peeps.
Well I think that's a plenty long enough intro. I am not sure what will come of this, but yanno what, let's give it a shot.
Later, gators.
xx Paige
